Iranian woman held at Ercan Airport for using a passport belonging to someone else

An Iranian woman was held and detained at Ercan Airport for trying to exit the TRNC with a passport belonging to someone else.

The woman identified as Mashad Muhammedi, was caught while trying to exit Cyprus with a French passport belonging to one Datavie Florence Cros, on Sunday.

She was charged with the crimes of "Forgery of Official Documents, putting it into use", "Forgery of Records" and "Impersonation".

The police said that the suspect entered the TRNC as a “tourist” on November, 10, 2021 from Ercan Airport.

She is said to have obtained the passport in Turkey for 45 thousand TL. 

Police said the suspect tore up her Iranian passport in a park and decided that she wanted to go to France via Turkey.
