African woman caught with forged passport in south Cyprus

Greek Cypriot police on Monday night detained a 24-year-old African woman for possessing a forged travel document after she attempted to board a plane to Germany using a Belgian passport.

The incident occurred at 9:00pm on Monday night, and according to deputy Paphos police chief, the woman's passport initially appeared to be valid but major discrepancies were observed in the photo section. Police said the woman, of African origin, attempted to board a flight from Paphos airport to Cologne, Germany.

The Interpol database did not list the passport as stolen or missing.

The woman who name and nationality was not mentioned was reportedly not cooperating with police and has not provided any answers.
