TRNC, Turkey declares 3-days public holiday to celebrate Eid-al Fitr

There will be a 3-day holiday next week to celebrate Ramadan Bayram or Eid-al Fitr Festival which begins on Monday morning after morning prayers following the holy month of Ramadan.

The month of Ramadan, which started on April 2, will be completed with a 30-day fast followed by the last fast on May 1, the eve of the day.

Muslims in Turkey, TRNC and around the world, are preparing to celebrate Eid al-Fitr, one of the two festivals of the Islamic world on May 2, as the day marks the end of a 30-day fast during the holy month of Ramadan as well as the beginning of a three-day public holiday.

The 3-day Ramadan (Sugar) Feast prayer will be held in all mosques across the TRNC, not in the order of mass worship, but in diluted prayer order, with mask, distance and hygiene measures, in accordance with the pandemic rules.

All public offices, for the exception of essential services, will be closed until Thursday, May, 5, 2022.

The last day for fasting is Sunday, May, 1.

Police and the municipalities are also taking precautionary measures on the roads and streets so that the public can celebrate the holiday comfortably.

The central State prison will be open for visits during the three day Ramadan Bayram holiday.
