Two foreigners who entered Turkey with fake document deported back to TRNC

Two young men who entered Turkey with fake document have been arrested and sent back to the TRNC to face trial.

The two men who are foreigners in the TRNC were arrested in Girne last week and taken to court on charges of putting false documents into use.

According to police statement, the suspects left the TRNC at about 9:00am on June, 5 from the Girne Tourism Port en-route to Mersin, Turkey. Upon their arrival in Turkey, immigration police, during examination of their passports, detected that they their passports carried fake stamps belonging to Turkey. They were immediately sent back to the TRNC.

They were arrested on their arrival back in the TRNC.

Police said initial investigation carried out on the issue revealed that they were in the country with a tourist visa.
