Dorm fees and rents for private homes should be adjusted accordingly for students - Minister of Education

The TRNC Minister of National Education Nazım Çavuşoğlu on Thursday met with representatives of student dormitories operating in the country.

Speaking during the meeting, Çavuşoğlu said that it was important to support students who chose to study in the TRNC, providing them with high quality services.

According to a written statement issued by the Ministry of National Education, Education Minister Nazım Çavuşoğlu said that the aim of his meetings with representatives of higher education institutions and their subsidiaries was to create the means for students choosing TRNC universities to receive quality education in a safe, secure and peaceful environment.

Çavuşoğlu said that the quality of services provided by private dormitories was important.

Also touching upon the “Student Friendly Island” project launched by the Ministry of National Education, the education minister called on dormitory owners and landlords to support the project.

“Dorm fees and rents for private homes should be adjusted accordingly for students. These rates should be more reasonable,” he added.
