Earthquake measuring 4 hit Cyprus coast, felt in Limassol and Pafos

An earthquake measuring 4 on the Richter scale struck off the coast of Limassol, south Cyprus this morning.

According to report, the earthquake happened at around 9:16am on Saturday, 70 kilometers southwest of Limassol, 25 kilometers west-northwest of Limassol (Anogyra-Prasteio Avdimou area) and at a depth of 10 kilometers.

According to the first assessments, the quake was felt in and around Limassol and also by residents in the wider region.

The tremor, lasting several seconds, was also slightly felt in certain areas of Pafos city and surrounding communities.

No damage was reported.
