Partial amnesty granted for vehicle and traffic inspection fines

The TRNC government has produced a partial amnesty for vehicles owing navigation and inspection fines.

In the decision, an exemption arrangement was made for the delay in hikes of the fees according to the years.

According to the Decree with the Force of Law, those who want to benefit from the amnesty will be required to pay the accrued fees for the 2022-2023 navigation period, together with their penalties, until 28 April 2023.

It was stated that the "Decree with the force of law", which will expire on April 28, 2023, was prepared with the aim of "to collect the revenues that the state cannot collect at present and to ensure that the registration of unused vehicles can be canceled".

According to the information in the Official Gazette regarding the decision, taxpayers who owe accrued and unpaid navigation license fee and inspection fee for the 2022-2023 navigation period, provided that they pay the accrued fees for the 2022-2023 navigation period together with their penalties until 28 April 2023;

  • If the entire accrued and unpaid navigational license fee principal is paid for the 2021-2022 period, and for each accrued and unpaid inspection fee, it will be exempted from 10% of the late fee if it is calculated as the inspection fee on the day of the application period.
  • For the 2020-2021 period, if the entire principal of the navigation license fee is paid and for each unpaid inspection fee, it will be exempted from 20% of the late fee if it is calculated as the inspection fee on the day of the application period.
  • For the 2019-2020 period, if the entire principal of the navigational license fee is paid and for each unpaid inspection fee, it will be exempted from 30% of the late fee if it is calculated as the inspection fee on the day of the application period.
  • For the 2018-2019 period, if the entire principal of the navigational license fee is paid and for each unpaid inspection fee, it will be exempted from the late fee, if it is calculated and paid in the chief, which will be the current inspection fee fee in the applied period.
  • For the 2017-2018 period, if the entire principal of the navigation license fee is paid and for each unpaid inspection fee, it will be exempted from the late fee if it is calculated as the inspection fee on the day of the application period.
  • For the 2016-2017 period, if the entire principal of the navigational license fee is paid and for each unpaid inspection fee, it will be exempted from the late fee if it is calculated as the inspection fee on the day of the application period.
  • For the 2015-2016 period, if the entire principal of the navigational license fee is paid and for each unpaid inspection fee, it will be exempted from the late fee if it is calculated as the inspection fee on the day of the application period.
  • For the 2014-2015 period, if the entire principal of the navigation license fee is paid and for each unpaid inspection fee, it will be exempted from the late fee if it is calculated as the inspection fee on the day of the application period.
  • For the 2013-2014 period, if the entire principal of the navigation license fee is paid and for each unpaid inspection fee, it will be exempted from the late fee if it is calculated as the inspection fee on the day of the application period.
  • For the 2012-2013 period, if the entire principal of the navigational license fee is paid and for each unpaid inspection fee, it will be exempted from the late fee if it is calculated as the inspection fee on the day of the application period.
