Illegal resident gave police wrong name after he was caught driving without a drivers license

Turkish Cypriot police on Friday held a driver who was caught for traffic crime for registering a different name on his penalty notice in Güzelyurt.

The 27-year-old motorist, identified only as EY was stopped by the police during traffic inspection on early Friday morning in Güzelyurt and was found to be driving without a drivers license. 

The suspect whose license was taken away from him due to his crime previously, was given a traffic offence ticket in which he gave a name belonging to another person to the police this time. 

The police also stated that in the further investigation, it was determined that the person in question was living in the north of Cyprus without a residence permit.

According to the statement made by the Police Press Officer, the investigation continues.
