Baby whale found dead on a beach in north Cyprus

A baby whales was found washed up on a beach in north Cyprus on Thursday.

The discovery was announced by Kemal Başat from Taşkent Nature Park.

Başat announced that the number of “billed whales” that hit the northern coasts of Cyprus during the day has reached seven.

Başat stated that the last time a tiny whale was washed ashore, his team worked selflessly in the water and in the cold to help stranded whales back into the sea.

Unfortunately, the baby found in Yeşilırmak recently died. Together with this animal, the 3rd beaked whale in the north and the 7th on the whole island was washed ashore.

He said; "Unfortunately, 2 animals in Gaziveren and Yeşilırmak could not be saved. Although the animal in Gemikonağı was released into the sea twice, it landed again in both, friends are currently assessing the situation at the scene.”
