TRNC to provide cheap flights for university students from earthquake areas in Turkey

The TRNC Minister of Public Works and Transportation Erhan Arıklı has announced that university students from the earthquake-stricken areas of Türkiye will be able to benefit from cheap airline tickets to the island between February 23-March 10.

Students from these areas will be able to fly to Istanbul, Ankara, Antalya and Adana for free before flying to the TRNC from these first three destinations for ₺881 and ₺571from Adana.

In an announcement posted on social media, the Minister of Public Works and Transportation Erhan Arıklı reminded that the TRNC government was working on ways to bring university students from the earthquake hit areas of Türkiye back to the TRNC so that they can resume their education.

He said that there were currently 10,000 students who were enrolled in TRNC universities in these areas trying to get back to the island.

“Turkish Airlines prepared a special package for us. Those students affected by the earthquakes will be able to fly domestic to Istanbul, Ankara, Antalya and Adana for free and will be able to fly to the TRNC from the first three of those destinations for a fixed price of ₺881 and ₺571 from Adana,” he said.

Arıklı also said that talks were continuing with Pegasus Airways for a similar package.
