86 Traffic accidents in one week, 35 people injured - TRNC police

35 people were injured in 86 traffic accidents that took place in the last one week in the TRNC of which speed ​​was ranked first among the causes of the accidents.

According to traffic report released by the police Press Office on Monday, 26 of the accidents resulted in injury and 60 in damages. 35 people were injured in the accidents that resulted in injuries.

Of the accidents, 27 were caused by speeding, 19 were due to close follow-up, 17 were due to careless driving, 11 were due to not stopping at the intersection, and 12 were due to other factors.

The total damage amount was calculated as 3,349,300 TL, 31 of them in Lefkcosia, 26 of them in Girne, 22 of them in Famagusta, 5 of them in İskele and 2 of them in Güzelyurt.

9123 vehicle drivers checked, 887 drivers reported

In the same period, a total of 9123 vehicle drivers were checked during the traffic controls carried out by the police throughout the country, and 887 vehicle drivers who were found to have committed crimes were reported and legal action was initiated against them. The breakdown of offenses for which drivers are reported with the highest speed is as follows:

Speeding (233), driving without a license (121), talking on a mobile phone while driving (93), not obeying traffic signs and signs (86), driving without a seat belt (69), driving without inspection (51), careless driving (28), drunk driving (25), driving without insurance or out of scope (23), driving without a driving license (9), dangerous driving (9), riding a motorcycle without a protective helmet (3), "A" road driving driving without permission (1), "B" private business driving without permission (1) and other traffic offenses (135)”
