Foreigner caught with drugs at Ercan Airport

A foreigner was arrested at Ercan airport this week after he was found with illegal drugs.

The suspect identified only as PNU was arrested at Ercan Airport on Wednesday, March, 1.

He was taken to court on Thursday on charges of "Importing and carrying Pills Containing Illegal Drugs".

Police said it found 87 pills believed to contain narcotic substances and a powder substance believed to contain narcotic substances, with a total of 87 pills, on March 1, when a police team on duty at the Narcotics and Smuggling Prevention Directorate searched the suspect who wanted to enter Ercan Airport, and his belongings.

The police demanded that the suspect be detained for 1 day, stating that the investigation continues.
