Man scams victim of 8000 on Facebook over the sales of a bike

A man who sold a bike to a buyer on Facebook but refused to deliver same has arrested and detained for obtaining money fraudulently.  

The suspect, an African identified only as SSG was arrested and taken to court on Tuesday, March, 14 on charges of obtaining money by fraud. One more person is being sought in connection with the incident.

Police said the buyer met the suspect on a Facebook shopping page named "Mobilezone 247 page." The buyer bought a bike from the suspect via the page. The buyer paid 8,000TL to the suspect for the bike but the suspect refused to deliver the bike to the buyer.

The suspect was identified in Lefkosa and arrested following a complaint.

Police said the suspect presented himself as an "employee" on the "Mobilezone 247 page" where he fraudulently obtained a total of 8,000 TL twice from the buyer for an electric bike. 

The suspect was ordered to be detained for 3 days for the purpose of investigation.
