Turkish Vice President Oktay attended iftar program in Famagusta

Turkish Vice President, Fuat Oktay, together with TRNC Prime Minister Ünal Üstel, attended an iftar program in the courtyard of Osman Fazıl Polatpaşa Mosque in Famagusta on Friday evening.

In attendance were the Turkish Ambassador to Lefkosia Metin Feyzioğlu, ministers, some deputies, Head of Religious Affairs Ahmet Ünsal and many citizens attended the iftar program.

Fuat Oktay delivered a speech before the iftar by saying, “I brought you greetings and words from all our people and our President from Turkey”.

Pointing out that we are in the month of Ramadan, Oktay stated that they entered the month of Ramadan in a sad state due to the earthquake disaster that occurred in Turkey.

“We felt the pain of our 11 provinces and all our brothers and sisters we lost here in our hearts,” Oktay said adding that 35 people who lost their lives in the TRNC also felt the pain of the angels in their hearts.

Stating that the wounds should be healed very quickly, Oktay said, “We have to leave our troubles behind as soon as possible and stand up much stronger. We are currently doing this under the leadership of our President."

Speaking on those who came to the TRNC from the earthquake zone, Oktay said, “We are always together. This is what we mean when we say we are in solidarity. In good and bad times, we are all together, together and in solidarity. We showed this once again to the whole world.”

Stating that unity, solidarity and solidarity will increase without diminishing, Oktay said, “I would like to express once again how happy and blessed we are to see you are with us, and how happy we are as a nation. I would like to,” he said.

“The friends of Turkey are the friends of the TRNC and the friends of the TRNC are our friends. We share the same fate," said Fuat Oktay, and wished this unity and solidarity to continue and increase. Oktay has already congratulated everyone on the Night of Power and Eid al-Fitr.
