Two students assaults another in Lefkosa, took away his phone

Two students have been arrested and detained for beating and stealing from a student in Lefkosa.

The suspects identified only as PAO and IYY were arrested on Friday and taken to court on Saturday on charges of assault and robbery.

Police said the suspects went to Anthony Martins Idaudu's house in Lefkcosia-Ortaköy on the grounds that he did not want to make peace with them when they committed the crimes.

The suspects and a wanted person, went to the house of the complainant Anthony Martins Idaudu's apartment located in Ortaköy at around 11:30pm on Thursday, March, 2 2023. They reportedly beat him and took 5,000 TL cash and Iphone 13 pro max brand mobile phone lying on the bed.

Police said after the robbery, the suspects forcibly removed the complainant from the house, took him to the front of the Lefkosia State Hospital and left him there, and then took a taxi and drove away.

They were arrested within the scope of the investigation launched upon the complaint.  

The police stated that the investigation initiated regarding the issue is continuing and that there is a person who is wanted after camera footage were examined.

The police demanded that the suspect be detained in the police for 3 days for investigation purposes.
