One driver arrested, 17 vehicles banned from traffic in TRNC

One driver was arrested, 239 were fined and 17 vehicles were banned from traffic during a nationwide traffic inspection conducted by the police on Saturday night.

Police in a written statement said; while 1,496 vehicles were checked, it was recorded that a total of 239 vehicle drivers were reported for various crimes, 133 of which were speeding above the determined speed limit, 15 of them was driving under the influence of alcohol, and 1 of them was driving without a driving license.

One vehicle driver was arrested and 17 vehicles were banned from traffic.
