Universities Search and Rescue Games 2023 to be realized

The Civil Defence Organization is organizing the “Universities Search and Rescue Games 2023.” (USARGames2023)

Students registered in search and rescue clubs of universities that are members of the International Universities Search and Rescue Council will be taking part in the games.

The Universities Search and Rescue Games 2023 will be held between the 28th and 30th of April and will take place at the Civil Defence Organization’s Lefkoşa Metehan Training Area.

13 universities search and rescue clubs will be competing in the games.

The aim of the games are to minimize the loss of life and increase awareness on search and rescue efforts.

Teams will compete in makeshift scenarios such as earthquakes, floods and major accidents.

It is hoped that the amateur teams will use a professional approach and show their skills in reaching people affected by disasters and assist those in need in the best possible way.

The teams will provide basic first aid to the injured.
