65 traffic accidents, 3 death and 16 injuries recorded in one week in north Cyprus

65 traffic accidents were reported across the TRNC in the last one week resulting in  3 death and 16 injuries. 

Police in it's traffic report covering the period  from May, 22-28 stated that, 3 people died and 16 people were injured in 65 traffic accidents.

In all the accidents that occurred, approximately 3 million 613 thousand TL of damage occurred.

The distribution of accidents by regions was as follows: Lefkosia 12, Famagusta 18, Girne 23, Güzelyurt 4 and Iskele 8.

During the traffic controls carried out in the same period, 1264 traffic crimes were detected.

The statement reads as follows; 329 drivers were driving fast, 12 driving dangerous, 27 driving carelessly, 94 driving without a license, 13 driving without a driving license, 64 driving without a seat belt, 37 driving without examination, 49 driving without insurance, 39 driving drunk, 11 driving without road permit.

Others are; 272 talking on a mobile phone while driving, 151 not obeying traffic signs, 3 not obeying traffic lights, 2 carrying more than tonnage or dangerous cargo, 1 using a motorcycle without a protective helmet, and 160 other traffic crimes.
