Man punch another in the club for asking his girlfriend a question

A young man assaulted another young man while in a nightclub in Girme over the weekend because he asked his girlfriend a question.

The suspect named only as BF was arrested and taken to court on Sunday on charges of battery. 

Recounting the incident in court, the police said that the suspect while in a night club operating in Girne on Saturday night, sneaked behind one Ö.D. and punched him on the left cheek on the grounds that he was “asking his girlfriend a question” causing his jawbone to break.

The suspect was arrested upon complaint while the complainant was taken to the Lefkosa State Hospital where a surgery was carried out and continues to receive treatment.

The suspect was ordered to be kept in police custody for 3 days for investigation purposes.
