Nigerian chef, Hilda Baci breaks Guinness World Record for ‘longest cooking time’

Nigerian chef, Hilda Bassey Effiong aka Hilda Baci who set out to break the Guinness world record for the longest cooking time on Thursday last week has made a new world record after exceeding the former record held by Indian chef, Lata Tondon.

The chef, at 7:45am on Monday morning, smashed the 87 hours 45 minutes record set by now-former Guinness World Record holder, Indian chef, Lata Tondon in 2019.

Tondon had made meals for 87 hours, 45 minutes and 00 seconds.

Hilda launched into the competition she tagged Cook-A-Thon on Thursday, May, 11, at exactly 4:00:00pm when she put on her cooker.

Hilda carries on despite having broken the record as she aims to cook for 96 hours, setting a new world record as the first human on earth to spend such an amount of time cooking.

She aims to cook for 96 hours and is expected to complete the task at 5:00pm on Monday, May, 15, 2023.

The chef has been getting massive support, especially from Nigerians, celebrities and politicians in the country.
