Scary accident on the Lefkosa-Girne highway

A 22-year-old student was lucky to escape unhurt in a traffic accident that caused his vehicle to somersault on the Lefkosa-Girne highway on Monday afternoon.

The incident happened at around 2:30pm on the Kyrenia Highway today.

The driver of the car, named only as OOS, 22, a Nigerian, was driving towards Girne on the Lefkosa-Girne high way when he lost control of the wheel at a slant bend between kilometer 12-13 of the road.

This caused the car to veer off the road uncontrollably before it crash unto a concrete wall by the side of the road and then somersaulted.

No one was injured in the accident.

Police said the accident happened as a result of carelessness.
