A 28-year-oldTurkish Cypriot man died in the hospital due to the injury he sustained after he was involved in an accident when he crashed into a garbage truck.

The victim, Veysel Can Sütcü, 28 the driver of the car ran into the back of a refuse collection truck while he was heading east on Ataturk Avenue in Lefkosia at around 2.35 am on Friday. He reportedly drove straight into the back of the refuse collection truck parked in front of him.

The sad moment was caught on a security camera stationed in the area.

The truck was stationed with all its lights on while it was emptying refuse bins.

Veysel Sütçü, who was seriously injured in the accident, was taken to the Lefkosia State Hospital, where, despite all efforts to save him, he died.

The driver of the refuse collection truck, Fikri Murat, 54, was arrested.
