Child running away from a dog hit by a car in Lefkosa

A 6-year-old child who was running from a dog in Lefkosa on Saturday evening was hit and injured by an oncoming vehicle.

The incident happened at around 7:00pm in Okullar Yolu Street, Lefkosa on Saturday.

6-year-old Simal Doğantürk, was running away from a dog for fear of been bitten when he was hit by a car. 

Police in a statement on the issues said the driver of the vehicle, Ayfer Hasanoğlu, 47 was driving on the Okullar Yolu Street, when he hit the child who was running away from a dog in front of Arzum Cafe, on the right side of the road.

Doğantürk, who was injured in the accident, was taken to the Lefkosa State Hospaitla and discharged after treatment. 

Police investigation into the incident continues.
