Three men arrested in Lefkosa for fighting over greeting a married woman

Three men, the manager and security guard of a business located in Lefkosa and a man they got into a gift with for greeting his wife.

The incident happened at around 3:00am on Wednesday, May, 31 in a bar named  “Wagon” located on Osman Paşa Street in the K.Çiftlik district,Lefkosa.

Police said the suspects named only as A.Ç, the manager of the business and RB, the security guard got into a fight with one MG at the exit of the bar because they "greeted his wife". They then pulled a knife at the police who intervened.

The suspects was taken to court on Thursday on on charges of "fighting" and "causing inconvenience".

Police told the court that A.Ç. and RB were arrested pursuant to pending orders.  

The police stated that MG, the other suspect in the matter, was also arrested and brought to the Lefkosa District Court and was detained for an additional 2 days for investigation purposes, for the crime of carrying a knife.

The police stated that the investigation regarding the issue has just begun, that the camera footage that needs to be examined, the statements that need to be taken and the identification of other persons involved in the incident.

At this stage, the police demanded that the suspects be kept in police custody for 1 day, as it is highly likely that if the suspects are released, it will have a negative impact on the investigation.
