TRNC government announce 5TL discount in domestic gas price despite scarcity of product

The government of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) has announced a discount of 5TL in the price of domestic gas despite shortage in supplies across the country in the last few days.

Making the announcement on Thursday, the Minister of Economy and Energy, Olgun Amcaoğlu said that the problem in gas supply will be resolved by Friday morning.

In his statement through the ministry's press office, Amcaoğlu stated that a ship will come to the island at 4:00pm today and LPG distribution will start by tomorrow morning.

Amcaoğlu also stated that the bottled gas price will be reduced by 5 TL, but he did not provide information on when the discount would come into effect.

In his statement on May 31, Amcaoğlu said that there was no problem in LPG supply but crisis in domestic gas supply broke out after the statement.
