Weed plant busted in a Gonyeli apartment

The TRNC narcotics teams on Thursday busted a house in Gonyeli where they found and seized cannabis plants planted in the house.

Police in its report stated that 6 grams of jute and a total of 13 root cannabis plants weighing 4.5 and a half kilograms being grown were seized during an operation carried out by the narcotics teams in Marmara Sokak Gonyeli at around 7:15pm on Thursday.

Two suspects,  SFF, 31 and AMSA, 24, during the control tried to disposed of substance believed to be a cannabis type drug weighing approximately 5 grams in 6 separate foil papers in their bag while trying to escape.

Two suspects were arrested for having a cannabis type substance weighing approximately 6 grams in their possession.

It was reported that during the search made on the same day in the house of the suspect named AMSA in Yeşilırmak, Lefke 13 root cannabis plants were found in a specially made greenhouse, weighing approximately 4 and a half kilograms, placed in pots.

The police stated that the suspect AMSA testified that he bought drugs from the first suspect SFF for 500 TL.

Police investigation into the incident continues.
