More than 50 drivers banned from driving for various traffic offenses in north Cyprus, 4 arrested

More than 50 drivers were identified and banned from driving for various traffic offenses including drink driving and talking on the phone while driving.

Police in a statement on Sunday, said, a total of 2,309 vehicle were checked of which 52 vehicles were banned from traffic as a result of the traffic inspections carried out by the police throughout the country on Saturday night.

A total of 393 drivers were reported for various traffic offenses, 128 of which were for driving faster than the legal speed limit, 26 for driving under the influence of alcohol, 6 for driving without a driving license, and 43 for using a mobile phone while driving. 

Legal action has been initiated against all of them.
