Teenagers arrested in an accident for theft

Two teenagers who sold items stolen from a workplace were caught and arrested following their involvement in an accident.

The teens named only as K.İ.Y. and ANŞ, both 16 years old were arrested and taken to court on Friday.

Police told the court that the the suspects between July, 3-5 in Lefkcosia deliberately broke open the door of a closed business where they stole 2 coffee machines, toasters, laptop computers and coffee bean grinders.

Stating that the camera footage was examined after the incident, the police said that the crime was committed by 16-year-old K.İ.Y and AŞ.

The suspects were declared wanted persons after camera footage of the incident was examined.

They were caught after a traffic accident in Güzelyurt on Thursday, July, 6.

Police told the court that it was determined that they sold the stolen toaster for 250 TL, and computers and 2 coffee machines for 3,500 TL.

The court ordered the suspect to remain in police custody for 3 days in the first place for the purpose of investigation.
