TRNC Met office warns residents to stay away from the sun due to ultraviolet Radiation

The TRNC Meteorology Department has issued a warning for Ultraviolet Radiation on Monday advising residents not to spend more than 10 minutes under the sun.

The Met office in a statement on Monday said ultraviolet radiation is very high today and it could be risky to stay under the sun for more than 10 minutes. It also advised residents to take the necessary precautions especially between the hours of 11:00am and 4:00pm.

Along with basic protection tools such as hats and sunglasses, people who have to go out should definitely take advantage of the shade and choose long-sleeved clothes with trousers.

It was noted that the hours with the highest ultraviolet radiation were between 11:00 and 16:00.
