Man get his work permit canceled for stealing 1kg meat in North Cyprus

The work permit of a foreign national has been revoked by the TRNC government for staling a kilogram of meat from his employer.

The suspect named only as EY committed the crime on Friday last week when he reportedly took a kilo of meat home without paying at the grocery store where he worked as a butcher.

He was arrested following a complaint from his boss and taken to court on charges of stealing.

Police said the meat was found in a cooked form during a search carried out in his apartment. The cooked meat was taken as evidence. 

He was initially detained for 3 days on Saturday for investigation purpose. On Tuesday, he was brought back to court again where he was given a 15 days prison order due to the termination of his work permit. He will face trial after the period of detention expires.
