Three detained for kidnapping and assault in Kyrenia

A group of three people were arrested for kidnapping, beating and demanding money from their victim.

Police in a statement on Saturday said the three suspects named only as; OH, 28, MMR, 26 and NB, 22 kidnapped their victim identified only as MR, 25 from his residence in Girne on the grounds that they want to settle the debt issue between them. 

It was determined that after they forcibly kidnapped him, they detained him in their residence where they beat him severely and demanded money from him with threat.

They were arrested following a complaint by the victim.

Police is carrying out investigation into the matter.
