Turkish Cypriot police said it suspect murder in the death of two people found in a car that fell off a cliff in Kayalar, north Cyprus.

Police in a statement said they found a vehicle believed to have fallen down a cliff by the sea on Geçitköy - Kayalar Road, in Seyir Tepe Locality at 11:30am on Friday.

During the examination carried out by the police in the vehicle in question, two lifeless human bodies were detected inside the vehicle. It was determined that one of the dead bodies found belonged to a woman and the other to a man

Police say the vehicle appears to have rolled off the cliff and are considering the possibility of murder.

They currently believe the car’s driver killed the passenger and then drove off the cliff, killing himself. The initial murder is believed to have taken place in Hasolat.

Police said a large-scale investigation has been launched into the incident.

At the time of this report the police are yet to disclose the identity of the two bodies.
