Three ladies detained for illegal residency, another for drug possesion

She was arrested for theft, drugs were found in her home, and three of her friends were found to have entered the TRNC illegally. 

Turkish Cypriot police last week arrested and detained 3 women following an investigation of theft against one of the suspects.

The suspects named only as; PDT, LTO, and ENK, who are all citizens of Congo and one of whom was found to have been smuggled into the TRNC were arrested during a search carried out on a house located in Kyrenia between the hours of 9:30-10:00pm on Friday, September, 1 as part of a theft investigation against one FGJ, a Nigerian in which a grinder containing drugs was found in her bedroom.

They were taken to court in Girne at the weekend and brought back to court again on Wednesday. 

Police who testified in court against the suspects said during the search, the police found a plastic grinder believed to contain cannabis-type drug residues in FGJ's bedroom, and a 0.5 gram weight of cannabis-type drug believed to be a cannabis-type drug in foil paper in the living room of the residence were detected and taken as an evidence.

One of the suspects, PDT who stayed with FGJ was found to be a fugitives in the country while LTO and ENK were also arrested with force. 

Police demanded that the suspects, PDT, LTO and EDK be released with appropriate bail condition while, the suspect, FGJ who had drugs possession case be detained for 3 days for the necessary investigation to be carried out on the matter. 

The court ordered that the suspects without a residence permit be sent to prison for a period not exceeding 10 days, while FGJ was kept in detention for 3 more days.
