Two Iranians busted for allegedly issuing the TRNC resident permits to 103 people

Turkish Cypriot police have arrested two Iranians who were arrested of allegedly issuing the TRNC resident permits to 103 people by entering the database of the Immigration Department of the Ministry of Interior.

The two suspects were taken to a court in Lefkosa on Wednesday and detained for 8 days for more investigation to be carried out on the matter.

According to the report by Yeniduzen on Wednesday, it was learned that the persons in question were working in the company that created the online system of the Immigration Department of the Ministry of Interior.

It has been learned that the suspects, who have been using the vulnerability in the system since 2022, advertised on Telegram with the words "Easy work permit is obtained in Northern Cyprus".

It was stated that the incident occurred after the employees in the Immigration Department realized that they were allowed outside of the management.

On the other hand, while no official statement has been received from the Ministry of Interior yet, Interior Minister Dursun OÄŸuz, speaking to the Diyalog newspaper, said that communication with the company that designed the online system was cut off, and that they are waiting to receive information from the police on the matter.
