10, people arrested for illegal residency in North Cyprus

No less than 10 foreigners were identified and arrested on Tuesday by Turkish Cypriot police across the TRNC for living illegally in the country.

According to police statement on Wednesday, 10 people who were found residing in the TRNC without a resident permit were identified and arrested by police during inspections and control carried out across the country on Tuesday night.

Legal proceedings were initiated against them.

In another incident, a man was arrested for stealing from a shop in Kyrenia.

The man named only as ICW, 20, who went to the shop as a customer reportedly stole a headset worth 1,800 TL offered for sale in the store.

The incident happened on Sept. 29 but was reported to the police on Tuesday.

He was taken to court on Wednesday on charges of theft. 

 and stole it by taking it out of the store without paying.
