Bomb thrown at Israel’s embassy in south Cyprus on Saturday

Greek Cypriot police was on alert early on Saturday after an improvised explosive device was thrown just 30 metres away from Israel’s embassy in central Nicosia.

According to report by the Cyprus Mail, no one was injured in the incident that happened at around 1:30am local time.

One person was arrested shortly after the attack and three others who were wanted were later arrested and detained. They all have Syrian nationalities and are aged between 17and 21, police also said.

Security at the embassy, which is located on Gryparis Street, has been further strengthened.
