Delivery man sexually harasses teenage customers in Lefkosa

A take away delivery driver has been arrested and detained by Turkish Cypriot police for sexually harassing a teenager he met where he went to deliver a food order to in Lefkosa.

The incident happened at around 10:15pm on Wednesday, October, 18, 2023 at the victim's apartment in Lefkosa.

The suspect identified only as AS, a take away deliver from Pakistan was arrested on the same day and taken to court on Thursday on charges of sexual harassment.

Police said the suspect was delivering food ordered to the victim, a 16-year-old woman on the night when he entered her apartment without her permission and sexually harassed her saying; "I have never seen a girl as beautiful as you before" and "Can I kiss you once?"

In response to a question, the police said that there were no witnesses or camera recordings about the incident, and that the 16-year-old girl made her first complaint to her neighbor. 

Police stated that the suspect did not accept the accusation.

The suspect was released on bail on the condition that he pays a cash guarantee of 5,000 TL and get a guarantor to signs a surety bond worth 100,000 TL.
