Happie Boys reportedly arrested and detained in north Cyprus

News currently making the rounds in Nigeria on Tuesday claims that the Happie Boys have been arrested and remanded in a prison in north Cyprus.

According to the news, the popular internet sensation and former security guards who were sent to study in north Cyprus on scholarship, were said to have been arrested and arraigned in court on Monday before they were sent to prison.

The reason for their arraignment was not mentioned and the rumors also alleged that they were remanded at an underground prison by authorities in north Cyprus (This claim is absolutely false).

At the moment, Olomoinfo can not confirm the authenticity of their arrest as we are not able to reach out to them or anyone who knows them.

If truly, they were arrested, it may not be unconnected with ongoing raid and arrests of illegal residents in the island by the police. 

On Monday, reports reaching us claimed that Turkish Cypriot police raided some apartments in Girne and arrested several students who were partying. Some were later released and those without permit were held.
