Happie Boys reportedly deported to Nigeria from North Cyprus

It seems the Happie Boys have left Cyprus back to Nigeria according to reports making the rounds on social media on Tuesday.

According to report, the Happie Boys' arrived in Nigeria on the night of October 30 and are in an undisclosed hotel in Utako, Abuja.

The boys, Matthew Precious Kelechi and Amakor Johnson, popularly known as the Happie Boys made headlines in 2022 when a Nigerian preacher, Apostle Chinyere came to their rescue, and offered her a scholarship to go school abroad to pursue their dreams after they were dismissed from their place of work for dancing while on duty.

They subsequently traveled to north Cyprus to study on scholarship but the story however took an unexpected twist some months back, when the boys called out the clergyman, saying he has stopped financing them.

The Apostle responded saying he wont be able to fund their education for now due to high exchange rate. Shortly afterwards, they began to call him out, saying he was fetish and even impregnated an underage girl.

In September, news broke out that they were arrested, arraigned and remanded in prison for living in north Cyprus without a resident permit.

On Monday, night, a X user (formerly Twitter) broke the news of their return to Nigeria, saying the Happie boys are now back in Nigeria.

“BREAKING: Happie Boys deported to Nigeria from Cyprus, they arrived in Nigeria last night and are in one hotel in Utako, Abuja", the user wrote.
