Student who was injured after jumping out of police vehicle in Iskele, broke his spine while trying to escape from the hospital

Last week, we brought you a report about a Nigerian student who was seriously injured after jumping out of a moving vehicle after he was arrested for illegal residency in Iskele and now there is another report of him jumping from a height of 8 meters while trying to escape from the hospital.

The incident happened in Iskele around 5:00pm on Tuesday, Nov., 7.

Police in a statement said the suspect, a 37-year-old man named only as DNA, a Nigerian was identified and arrested for not having documents. He was put in the back seat of a vehicle and been transferred to the police when he opened the backdoor of the vehicle and jumped out.

He was seriously injured as a result of the jump and was taken to the intensive care unit of the Famagusta State Hospital where it was discovered that he fractured his skull and had brain hemorrhage.

According to new police report on Sunday, Nov., 12, 2023, the same man put his life in danger again when he tried to escape from the hospital by jumping through the window of the hospital building from a height of 8 meters while trying to escape from the hospital.

Police said the suspect tried to escape from the hospital at around 5:00am on Saturday by jumping from the 8-meter high window of the hospital.  

He was diagnosed with a spinal fracture and was taken into the neurology ward.
