Five men from TRNC steals motorcycles from south Cyprus

Five people were arrested by Turkish Cypriot police in north Cyprus after a Greek Cypriot man reported that they stole his motorcycles and fled to the north.

The suspects, AD, SK, AS, aged between 19 and 23 were identified and arrested by Turkish Cypriot police and taken to a court in Lefkosa on Friday. 

They were accused of stealing 3 motorcycles worth 40,000 Euros from the south of Cyprus.

Two other suspects, İ.D, and AB who wee determined to be allegedly linked to the crime were also arrested and brought to court.

Police told the court that the suspects named AD, SK and AS hit and broke the window of the motorcycle shop called "Lambrou" facing the road with a "Pick-up" type vehicle in Limassol at around 4.00am on Thursday.

He said they then loaded three motorcycles, worth around €40,000, onto the back of the pickup truck. The pickup was then crossed back into the north at the Beyarmudu crossing point.

He explained that the owner of the business, Jakou Lambrou, came to the north and filed a complaint. 

As a result of the investigation, the police identified İ.D. He said that they determined that the suspects named and AB had connections to the issue and arrested them.

The police also announced that they examined the entry and exit records and determined that the suspect named AS crossed from Beyarmudu to the north one and a half hours after the incident.

The police stated that the investigation was continuing, that there were camera images to be examined and statements to be taken, and requested that the suspects be detained for 3 days.
