Vehicle completely destroyed in accident on the Taşkent-Haspolat

A vehicle was completely burnt to ashes following an accident after it hit an advertising sign on the Taşkent-Haspolat road last night.

The incident happened at around 10:00pm on Monday, Nov., 13 on the Taşkent-Haspolat road.

The car driven by one İbrahim Erişkin, 33, was heading towards Haspolat from Taşkent when it hit an advertising sign by the side of the road. The vehicle caught fire upon impact of the collision.

The Lefkosia Fire Brigade rapidly arrived at the scene and extinguished the fire, however, the vehicle was completely destroyed by the fire.

A passenger in the car, Rıdvan Karaçöl, 33 was taken to the Lefkosia State Hospital for a medical checkup. 

No mention is made of the condition of the driver.

A police investigation has begun.
