One injured in an accident involving an ambulance and 4 vehicles in Girne

One person was injured in an accident involving an ambulance and 4 vehicles that occurred in Lapta-Alsancak Main Road on Wednesday morning.

The accident involving an ambulance and 4 vehicles happened at around 8:00am on Karaoğlanoglu Street between the 1st and 2nd kilometers of the Lapta-Alsancak Main Road.

According to police report, the driver of the ambulance, Süleyman Tosun, 41 was driving fast towards the east with the sirens on when he hit the right front part of a vehicle driven by Yasemin Olğar, 38 who was trying to pass the red light, but he did not move because the green light was on his side. 

The vehicle which was thrown away by the impact, hit the front of another vehicle driven by Natalia Movchan, 48, who was waiting at the red light in the opposite lane. The vehicle which was thrown backwards, hit the front of another vehicle driven by Nadir Timuçin, 40, who was also waiting at the red light.

The ambulance vehicle skidded due to the impact and hit the left side of a vehicle driven by Yasir Mehood, 36, who was waiting at the red light at the time.

Yasemin Olğar, who was injured as a result of the accident, was taken to Kyrenia hospital and then to Akçiçek Hospital where he was discharged after treatment.
