10 people arrested for living illegally in north Cyprus

At least 10 people were identified and arrested across north Cyprus for living in the country without a resident permit.

They were identified and arrested during peace operation carried out by Turkish Cypriot police in Lefkosia on Saturday.

Legal proceedings were initiated against them.

The investigation continues.

Also, one İA, a Sudanese national who was determined to have been living in Northern Cyprus without a residence permit, was sent to prison for a period of 10 days.

IA was arrested on Tuesday last week and taken to court on Friday.

During the immigration check, it was determined that he had been residing in north Cyprus without a residence permit for 652 days since April 25, 2022.
