Fake police officer steals money from exchange office in Lefkosia

A man who identified himself as a police officer at a foreign exchange office in Lefkosia reportedly stole a thousand pounds from the company.

The incident happened at around 2:30 pm on Friday in Lefkosia when the suspect, EK, 33, a Turkish Cypriot went to an exchange office and bought 1000 Stg of money after introducing himself as a police officer to the person who was working as a cashier in the business in question even he was not a police officer. 

After declaring that he wanted to buy money, he took 1000 Stg cash from the cashier he escaped from the workplace without paying any fee in return.

The person in question at around 6.00pm on Friday took a taxi used by a person in Famagusta and took him to the place he wanted to go, and also did not pay the 380 TL taxi fee.
