Group of Turkish Cypriots allegedly attacked in Troodos, south Cyprus

A group of eight young Turkish Cypriots were allegedly attacked by some Greek Cypriot youths in Troodos, south Cyprus on Sunday, report says.

According to report bybKibris Postasi, the incident reportedly took place at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday February 18, leaving three people from the group injured.

Speaking to the Turkish Cypriot News Agency (TAK), the young people said that while driving to Troodos they stopped at the Platania picnic site where they were attacked by five-six Greek-speaking people aged 25 to 35.

According to TAK, the eight young people received treatment at the Dr. Burhan Nalbantoğlu State Hospital in Lefkosia.

South Cyprus police said they have not received a complaint regarding the alleged incident.
