WhatsApp now stops users from taking screenshots of profile photos

As the number of WhatsApp users increases, the security measures taken also increased as users will no longer be able to take screenshots of other people's profile photos.

Profile photos on WhatsApp are a great way to express yourself while helping others identify you on the app. However, they could also be downloaded and misused by others for malicious purposes. To solve that problem, WhatsApp removed the ability to download profile pictures almost half a decade ago. But you could still take their screenshot. With the latest beta release, WhatsApp is rolling out a solution to this loophole.

WhatsApp started testing a new feature as part of increasing security measures.

This feature prevents users from taking screenshots of anyone's profile photo. The feature gives a warning when you want to take a screenshot that it cannot be done.

As it turns out here; There is a warning: "Screenshot cannot be taken due to application restrictions."

The feature published by WABetaInfo will still not offer complete protection, but it will at least prevent the use of profile photos by taking screenshots.

As reported by WABetaInfo, the latest WhatsApp beta version #2.24.4.25 for Android has brought essential privacy-related changes. The app now restricts taking screenshots of user’s profile pictures. This change adds an extra layer of security preventing others from capturing your profile photo without your consent.
