Student cries out as her friends from Kazakhstan who came to visit her in north Cyprus were maltreated, denied entry and band from the country

Two friends from Kazakhstan who came to visit their friend in north Cyprus were denied entry and banned from the country by immigration at Ercan Airport.

The incident happened on Sunday, April, 21.

Their friend in north Cyprus who shared their ordeal with Olomoinfo said her friends who lives in different countries were on their way to visit her in north Cyprus when they were denied entry and banned.

According to her, on arrival at Ercan airport, they were stopped at passport control and their passports were taken away from them with officials claiming that they don't look like tourists and they did not have enough cash despite having $500 in cash and some money on bank card.

Their passports were stamped with a ban on entry into northern Cyprus. She said the migration police did not care to listen to their pleas despite the fact that one of them had visited north Cyprus not long ago.

She said they were put in a cell without water or food and were sent on the first flight to Ankara instead of been sent back to Kazakhstan despite having a return ticket.
