Woman under the influence of drugs steals car from a resident in Paphos, Cyprus

A 42-year-old Greek Cypriot woman from a village in Paphos stole her neighbour’s car and began driving around the streets of Paphos under the influence of narcotics.

The woman was quickly located and arrested.

The unprecedented incident unfolded on Sunday afternoon.

A 42-year-old woman from a village in Paphos reported to the police that her vehicle had been stolen. She had parked it outside her mother’s house, leaving the keys in the ignition.

Patrols were immediately dispatched to the area, and shortly afterward, the police located the vehicle being driven by a woman on Mesogis Avenue, heading towards the city of Paphos.

The vehicle was intercepted, and subsequent investigations revealed that the driver was a 42-year-old woman from the same area as the complainant.

In the possession of the 42-year-old, Mr. Nicolaou said, a quantity of cannabis was found, and she also tested positive in a drug test conducted on her. The woman was arrested and is expected to be charged in court for the theft of the vehicle.
