Howard University revokes Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ Honorary degree

The Howard University Board of Trustees has unanimously decided to rescind the honorary degree awarded to Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs in 2014.

This decision follows the release of a 2016 surveillance video showing Combs physically assaulting his former girlfriend, Cassie Ventura.

The university will also disband the scholarship program in Combs’ name and remove his name from all documents listing honorary degree recipients.

The university stated that Combs’ behavior is incompatible with their core values and beliefs, and they are unwavering in their opposition to interpersonal violence.

The university will also terminate a gift agreement with Combs, return his $1 million contribution, and cancel a 2023 pledge agreement with the Sean Combs Foundation.

This decision comes amid ongoing controversy surrounding Combs, who has been named in eight lawsuits since November, including allegations of abuse and rape.
